A Round Table on culture statistics
Canada and Canadian Heritage are pleased to invite you to a Roundtable on Culture Statistics being held at the Tunney’s Pasture Campus, 100 Tunney’s Pasture Driveway, Ottawa, ON, on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Participation via WebEx is available for those unable to attend in person.
The objective of this Roundtable is to provide an opportunity for culture stakeholders to inform Statistics Canada of their statistical needs via facilitated sessions, as well as to discuss the possibilities for collaboration and innovation in the realm of culture statistics. The departure point for discussions will be to focus on data issues and challenges related to the exchange, consumption and participation in or with culture and/or artistic works, objects, events and services within the arts, culture and heritage sectors. That being said, this Roundtable is also an opportunity to probe further afield, and discuss other needs and issues that may be raised by attendees.
Statistics Canada is open to all feedback and is especially interested in hearing from stakeholders who do not often get to interact with the national statistical agency on culture statistics, such as culture associations, guilds, academia, and non-government organizations.
This is your chance to be heard!
The day will begin with a guest speaker discussing the rapidly changing world of culture statistics. Breakout sessions will provide opportunities for stakeholders to give their input and plenary sessions will summarize the discussions. In the weeks following the event, Statistics Canada will review the input received from culture stakeholders and prepare a formal response which will be shared back with all participants. Please see the preliminary agenda for the event.
We encourage you to share this invitation with colleagues you feel would have meaningful contributions to make to this event. Space is limited, however, so we do ask anyone interested in attending to rsvp to: email@example.com. Please RSVP by January 19, 2018. Organizers will confirm your attendance and more details on the event will be sent at a later date.
