Following on the success of this year’s trade mission to China, the Department of Canadian Heritage is convening an upcoming creative industries trade mission in February 2019 to Latin America – specifically Mexico, Colombia and Argentina.
The trade mission is targeted to sectors that present opportunities to leverage existing networks, play to Canada's strengths, and have complementarity with the Latin American market. The following six business clusters are being projected but are not limited to for the trade delegation:
film/audio-visual (including animation and visual effects);
video games and virtual reality/augmented reality (VR/AR);
digital content for public/creative spaces/museums;
performing arts; and
For the past trade mission to China, Saskatchewan’s Landslide Entertainment was selected to be part of the trade mission. This resulted in some significant business inroads and partnerships for Landslide in the Chinese market.
