A unique series of approaches to developing human potential is important for not only our professional development in our careers but for long term appreciation and understanding how being a healthy artist affects our everyday life.

SATP believes movement is important as it equals longevity and our expansive space promotes movement. Effective movement brings awareness and efficiency into our ordinary movements of sitting, standing and walking. As we facilitate a shift in posture that allows the body to find an effortless upright structure we learn applications that brings exercises for self-care and professional development.

Collaborating with Sum Theatre Saskatoon, SATP offers a hands-on workshop talk to improve your strength, cardiovascular capacity, mobility, and agility in an environment that will keep you coming back for more. Learn how to effortlessly move on stage, in the office and in your home. Facilitator: Heather Morrison in collaboration with Sum Theatre.

Don't miss this important event with Nutritionist Marc W Morris and Heather Morrison as they discuss important recommended lifestyles while we work in the arts industry. Come prepared to learn some short workout routines great for the dressing room or when you are on the road.

FIRST HALF - We have the privilege to have a wonderful nutritionist as one of our speakers.

Marc Morris PhD, CSCS - Marc is a full-blown health enthusiast. Marc received an Honours Chemistry (Bio-organic Specialization) degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. In academia, Marc’s experience ranges from playing “lab rat” as a healthy control to delivering two full university level courses (Advanced Metabolism and Macronutrients and Current Issues in Nutrition). He was also presented five conference abstracts at Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. In 2009, he moved to the Prairies to pursue graduate school in Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan, where he is currently working on his PhD in Nutrition.

As a strength athlete, Marc is a nationally-ranked Powerlifter, 2012 Westerns Raw Champion and attended the 2018 World Equipped Powerlifting |Championships. He has coached several athletes to the National level, including multiple podium finishes, and beyond. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Dr. Marc works full-time as a health coach - providing guidance to all those looking to improve their health and reach their fitness goals, specifically through resistance training and body recomposition.

SECOND HALF- Wear clothing appropriate for training for our second half of our the workshop. We will have a short guided workout for as we learn worthwhile stretches for the dressing room or when you are on the road. 

There is no charge for admission for SATP members. $10 for non members at the door.
