Royal Saskatchewan Museum is currently looking to hire 2 – T.rex Performers.
These folks will be primary operators of the baby and juvenile T.rex puppets.
Duties will include:
-Performing in T.rex Tales: Trek to the Cretaceous - our upcoming stage show.
-Visitor Engagement and Interaction – before and after the show and in the galleries
-Stage Management – maintaining props, costumes, sound and lighting set-up
-Outreach and Promotion – attending special events, media appearances, etc, to promote the show and the new gallery
Successful candidates will have a background in performance/theatre as well as strong customer service and communication skills. They will be outgoing, personable and enthusiastic. They must be willing and able to operate an 8ft high, 16ft long T.rex costume for up to 30 minutes at a time. Available May-August 2019.
To be eligible, participants must:
· be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
· be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
· have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
International students are not eligible participants. International students include anyone who is temporarily in Canada for studies and who is not a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
