What: Saskatoon Opera presents Georges Bizet’s beloved masterpiece Carmen, the story of the sensual Carmen and her ardent young admirer, Don Jose. Carmen is not one to be tied down to one man, and values above all else her freedom. She soon leaves Don Jose to be with the toreador Escamillo. Don Jose confronts her in one of the most gripping finales in operatic history. Set in Spain in the 2000s, Saskatoon Opera’s production provides a modern look at Carmen.
