What the grant supports

A series of 6 or more live music or theatre performances for the paying public.

There must be no more than 5 days between each performance, and they must take place in several different locations.

The tour must be in support of a new product.

A portion of the grant can be used towards marketing the tour.

or example:

  • a 6 show tour over one week in 6 different Saskatchewan cities

  • a 3 week Western Canadian tour with 12 dates in 10 cities 

  • a 42 date US tour in 27 states over 7 weeks

  • a European tour with 11 stops in 6 countries over three weeks

  • 20 theatrical performances over 3 months in Sask and Alberta

What the grant can't support

  • Travel costs for non-Saskatchewan residents

  • Multiple performances at the same venue

  • Showcase dates included in your tour schedule aren't eligible

What support is available

This grant can cover up to 50% of a tour's approved budget, up to a maximum of $20,000 per applicant, per tour.

Application tips

  • explain why the cities and venues you're going to are the RIGHT cities and venues to go to

  • include a specific breakdown, city-by-city, of how you're going to promote your shows and how you'll measure success

  • don't forget that tour manager fees, road crew costs, and booking & management commissions are all eligible expenses

 

After You're Approved

When you're approved, 80% of the funds you've been awarded will be delivered when you sign the letter of agreement. 

The remaining 20% of the funds are delivered after the project is complete, and we're approved your final report.

You'll be required to keep your program officer up to date with any changes you might need to make to your project.

Deadline Information

You must apply at least two weeks before your first tour date.

Applications are processed within 2 to 6 weeks.

When the program is open, applications are accepted at any time.
