This play is inspired by the life of Will James, famous American cowboy, writer and illustrator. It was only 25 years after his death on September 3rd, 1942, in Los Angeles, that biographer Anthony Amaral revealed in his book The Guilt Edged Cowboy that Will James was actually a French Canadian named Ernest Dufault , born in Saint-Nazaire-d’Acton, Quebec.
The play focuses on the last months of Will James’s life. The action takes place in the Hollywood Hills district of Los Angeles, California, from late June to early .
